MRS. EVELYN REKOW DIED AT OSAGE HOSPITAL MARCH 16

Mrs. Evelyn Rekow, 74 of Osage, died at the Osage hospital Monday, March 16. 1992.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 19 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage, the Rev. Roger Hubbard officiating. Burial was in the Osage cemetery, the Champion Funeral Home in charge.

Serving as casketbearers were Richard Lunde, Shawn Goddard, Thomas Fellton, Rod Hanawalt. Norm Thiesse, and Stanley Goddard. Honorary casketbearers were Kurt Smith. Thomas Wei. Jim Heller. Robert Wei, Randy Goddard and Glendon Borchardt.
Sharon Huegli was organist and accompanied the soloist Mariedna Wilde, who sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden". The congregation sang "The Old Rugged Cross."

Evelyn Clara Florence (Schmidt) Rekow was born November 21, 1917 in Union Township, Worth County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth (Schilling) Schmidt. Evelyn grew up near Grafton. She attended county schools and graduated from Grafton High School. On February 20, 1938 she married Herman Rekow. They farmed most of their lives and moved to Osage in 1958. She worked at various jobs until she retired. Evelyn spent most of her time seeing to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed many different crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband Herman on January 15, 1992, her parents; four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by five daughters; Mrs. Kei (Phyllis) Wei of Columbus. Ohio, Mrs. Jeffrey (Rose) Smith of Nashua. Mildred Rekow of Mason City, Mrs. Morris (Shirley) Goddard of Nashua. Mrs. Jerry (Sandra) Clausen of Eyota, Minnesota: one sister, Mrs. Elsie Felton of Osage: 16 grandchil¬dren ; and two great grandchildren.
