Fred W. Arndt Dead

Another of the old settlers of this vicinity passed away last week. Fred W. Arndt who died last Wednesday, Jan. 18, and was laid at rest in the Lutheran cemetery south of Riceville on Friday 20, 1911.

He was born in Germany in 1830 and emigrated to this country with Mrs. Arndt in 1869. Two children are living, a son, Adolph, and a daughter, Mrs. A. Milhan .

He had considerably passed the allotted span of life, 3 score and 10 having reached 81 years. The ailment that carried him away was intestinal nephritis and other complications.
