Funeral Services Held
for Mary Caroline Arndt, 94

Funeral services were held Friday, July 2, 1971 in St. Peter's Lutheran church of Riceville for Mary Caroline (nee Hohn) Arndt, 94, who passed away on Wednesday, June 30 in the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, The Reverend Bertrand Hinrichs officiated at the service.

Mrs. Arndt was born on November 20, 1876 in Germany.

She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Edd (Gertrude) Rieken; Mrs. Herb (Heddie) Fouts; and Mrs. George (Eda) Rieken, all of Riceville; Mrs. Walter (Martha) Timmermann, Eagle Grove, Iowa; and Mrs. Howard (Minnie) Penny, Little Cedar, Iowa; four sons, Arthur, Walter, and Edward, all of Riceville and Albert, Maynard, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph; her parents, two sisters, and four brothers.

Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville, with the Chisholm Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

MRS. MARY ARNDT, 94
OF RICEVILLE DIED

Funeral services were held Friday for a Riceville resident, Mrs. Mary Arndt, 94, who died last Wednesday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, Iowa. Rev. Hinrichs, pastor, was in charge of rites at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Riceville, and burial was in the Riverside cemetery there. Chisholm Funeral Home made the arrangements.

Mary Catherine Hohn was born on November 20, 1876, in Germany, the daughter of Chris and Caroline Hohn. Adolph Arndt and Mary Hohn were married in Cresco on September, 1898. They had lived in Mitchell and Howard counties.

Surviving are four sons, Arthur, Walter and Edward of Riceville, and Albert of Maynard; five daughters, Mrs. Ed Rieken (Gertrude), Mrs. Herb Fouts (Heddie), Mrs. George Rieken (Eda) of Riceville, Mrs. Walter Timmerman (Martha) of eagle Grove, and Mrs. Howard Penney (Minnie) of Little Cedar; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
