Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa.

ORCHARD, IOWA — Mrs. Guy (Nedra) Benson, 62, of Yorba Linda, Calif., formerly of Orchard, died Friday (May 22, 1998) at her home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Orchard, Iowa, with the Rev. William Griffee and the Rev. Stewart Smith, officiating. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the Church.

Nedra Jan Lack, daughter of H. Julian and Doris (Morse) Lack, was born Jan. 10, 1936, in Osage, Iowa.

She grew up on a farm east of Orchard and attended Orchard Schools.

She was united in marriage to Guy D. Benson on Feb. 1, 1954, in Leon, Iowa. They moved to Inglewood, Calif. in 1954 and resided in California for 44 years.

She was baptized at Acacia Avenue Baptist Church, Hawthorne, Calif. by the Rev. Henry Buhler. She graduated from El Camino College with an AA degree in Cosmetology.

She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. She inspired people with a Christian spirit and giving heart, qualities that serve as a lasting tribute. Her childhood love of horses and basketball continued throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Guy Benson, of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two daughters, Deborah Benson, of Long Beach, Calif.; and Denise Lynch and her husband, James, of Lomita, Calif.; one brother, Philip K. Lack, of Orchard, Iowa; three grandchildren, Michael Huss, of Long Beach, Calif., Michael Lynch, Torrance, Calif., and Megan Lynch, Torrance, Calif.
