FORMER OSAGE WOMAN DIES AT MILWAUKEE

Osage – Mrs. Milo Miller, 56, prominent in music circles for many years, died Monday morning at a Milwaukee hospital. Funeral rites were incomplete. The body will be sent here for burial.

Mrs. Miller was born Alice Swanson, daughter of Alfred and Ingrid Swanson, at Osage August 8, 1896. She was graduated from Osage High School, received her bachelor of Music degree at Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and her master’s degree at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois.

Mrs. Miller served as music supervisor at West Waterloo after teaching music at Garner, and later was music supervisor at South Bend, Indiana.

In June 1923, she was married to Milo Miller. They established their home at Waterloo, then went to Greenville, Michigan, where Mr. Miller was recalled late military service to do specialized work.

They next lived at Niagara Falls, New York, then at Milwaukee, and had just sold their home there and were about to move to Chicago when she was taken ill.

Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Robert Johnston, Kankakee, Illinois; her mother in Osage; and three brothers, Godfrey Swanson, Eagle Rock, California; and Albert and Elmer Swanson, Osage.

MILLER RITES SET

Osage – Private funeral rites will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home for Mrs. Milo Miller 57, of Milwaukee, formerly of Osage, with burial in the family lot in the Osage Cemetery. She died at Milwaukee Monday morning.
