LUGG.

Arthur Barnes Lugg was born at Bere Regis, Dorsetshire, England, on April 15, 1837, and died at his home at Mithell, Iowa, November 17,1909, aged 72 years, 7 months and 2 days. He came to America in 1854, and settled in Ohio, thence sucessively in the states of Pennsylvania, Illinois and Wisconsin. He came to Mitchell county, Iowa in 1866, where he has since resided except about nine and one-half years which he spent in South Dakota.

On April 15, 1869, at Osage, Iowa, he was married to Mary J. Barker who passed to her reward in 1894. To this union were born seven children, five of whom survive. June 2, 1895, he was married to Margaret Buck who survives him.

He united with the Free Baptist church in Burr Oak, in 1872, and in 1884, united with the Regular Baptist church at Vilas, S. D., where his membership remained. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and one brother. Three sons, Charles, Ray, and Ellsworth of Osage, and two daughters, Mrs. George Featherstone of Oakes, N. D., and Mrs. Guy Hatfield of Mason City, also nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral was held Saturday November 20th, after a short service at the house conducted by the Rev. Densmore, the remains were takin to Osage, where the services were held at the Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Foreman. The burial took place in the Osage cemetery.
