ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Irma L. Ball, age 91, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, February 9, 1997, at the Ravenwood Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 13th, at the United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, with the Rev. Ted Stowers officiating. Burial was in the Newburg Cemetery, Carpenter, Iowa.

Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, was in charge of arrangements.

Irma L. Ball was born on March 23, 1905, in Mitchell County, to Frank and Emma (Priem) Gerlach.

She married John Ball on March 23, 1927, on the family farm in Mitchell County. They farmed in the Carpenter area for over 30 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Wilkins, Waterloo,; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose Nickerson of St. Ansgar; and two brothers, Wilmer Gerlach, St. Ansgar, and Gene Gerlach of St. Ansgar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; one daughter, Dorothy; one sister, Lucille; and three brothers, Ray, Earl and Arthur.
