Agnes (Mitchell) Milton was born September 22, 1880 on Fiddens Farm in Cardos, Scotland, the daughter of Alexander Mitchell and Agnes (Liston) Mitchell. The Mitchell family sailed from Glasgow, Scotland, with their children, on February 20, 1892 and landed in New York on March 2nd.

They then came to the home of Mrs. Mitchell's sister, Mrs. Allan (Elizabeth nee Liston) Robertson of Osage. They later moved to a farm two miles east of Fuller, a Post Office in Mitchell County which was located on the SE 1/4 of Section 19 in Liberty Township. Agnes Mitchell taught in Liberty Township before her marriage.

Agnes Mitchell married Henry Milton on February 28, 1900. After Henry and Agnes were married they farmed his parents' farm near Fox Lake, Wisconsin for a time.

In 1906 Henry and Agnes purchased and moved to the SW 1/4 of Sec. 16 in Liberty Township. This was known as the Milton home place. In 1922 they purchased 120 acres of Sec. 21 in Liberty Township. In 1926 they bought the NW 1/2 of Sec. 16 to add to the home place.

Agnes passed away on December 22, 1966 and was buried in the Liberty Cemetery, Preceding her in death was her daughter Laura (Louis J) Ethen who passed away in 1961, her father Alexander who passed away in 1935 and her mother Agnes who passed away in 1933.

Surviving here are four sons; William, Leslie, Lloyd and Maurice.

The children of Henry and Agnes were:
Laura Ellen (Milton) Ethen -- March 15, 1902 – February 15, 1961

William Alexander Milton -- April 5, 1904 –July 21, 1990

Leslie Henry Milton -- December 23, 1905 – October 18, 2002

Lloyd Peter Milton – June 7, 1910 – November 10, 2009

Maurice Vern Milton – October 11, 1913 – January 6, 2005
