Rites Incomplete for Henry Milton, 75

Osage – Henry Milton, age 75, died at his home in Little Cedar, Wednesday noon. He had been in failing health for the past four years.

Mr. Milton came from Fox Lake, Wisconsin, to Little Cedar, and has made his home there since.

Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Louis Ethen, Stacyville; four sons, William; Leslie and Lloyd of Little Cedar, and Maurice, in the army.

The family is waiting word from the son in the army before completing funeral arrangements.

Stacyville – Cpl. Maurice Milton of Camp Lawson, Washington, arrived Sunday afternoon to attend funeral services for his father, Henry Milton of Little Cedar. He will visit his sister, Mrs. L. Ethen of Stacyville, and his brothers, Leslie and Bill of Stacyville.

Henry Milton was born October 10, 1867 in Fox Lake, Wisconsin to Ann Greeley Milton and Peter Milton, Sr. He married Agnes Mitchell, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Mitchell.

HENRY MILTON DIES
AT LITTLE CEDAR

The county has lost one of its finest men in the death of Henry H. Milton, 75, who passed away at his home in LIttle Cedar Wednesday afternoon. He had been in failing health for a long time and the end was not unexpected.

Mr. Milton was born on October 10, 1867, at Fox Lake, Wisconsin. He came to Little Cedar in 1902, settling on a farm, and had since lived in that community.

His marriage to Agnes Mitchell took place on February 28, 1900. She and their children survive him. The latter are: Mrs. Louis Ethon, and William Milton of Stacyville; Lloyd and Leslie of Little Cedar and Morris, who is in the armed forces and is stationed at Seattle.

It would be impossible to tell of all the public service Mr. Milton did during his life time. He helped in every civic project that benefitted his community; he served on the school board of his district for many years, was an officer in the co-operative creamery and at the time of his death was a member of the board of directors for the Little Cedar Co-Operative elevator company.

He was a farmer for the greater part of his life and was an excellent one.

Four years ago he retired from active life and he and his wife moved to the town of Little Cedar.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
