AUTO COLLISION
TAKES THREE LIVES

St. Ansgar, Iowa, Nov. 15, 1938 — Mitchell county authorities today investigated a head-on automobile collision in which three persons were killed and three others were injured seriously. The accident occurred last night a mile and a half north of here.

The dead are Clarence Goldberg, 45, St. Ansgar; Charles Rust, 15, and Robert Adams, 16. The youths lived on a farm near here.

Charles Libersky, Jr., 15, was near death. Goldberg's wife and Catherine Rust, 14, sister of Charles Rust, were reported in serious condition.

The four young persons were returning home from high school and the Goldbergs were traveling toward St. Ansgar.

Coroner George Krepelka said the exact cause of the crash was not determined. He said one of the autos apparently was traveling near the center of the road, possibly confusing the other driver, causing him to lose control of his machine.
