BURIED AT OSAGE

Osage – The body of Mrs. Frank Lonergan of Kasson, Minn., was brought here Sunday afternoon for burial. She was Mary E. Nixon, born on a farm near Osage in 1871.

She is survived by four children, Jesse Lonergan, at home; Elsie Hudstad, Hutchinson, Minn.; Grace Alfen, St. Paul, and Marion, a son, in California. There are nine grandchildren.
She had seven sisters and brothers. Mr. Lonergan preceded her in death by two years. The funeral services wee held in Kasson and burial was in the Osage cemetery. A minister from Kasson officiated.

Mary Elizabeth “Mame” (nee Nixon) was born July 31, 1871 in Iowa ; the daughter of Francis Nixon and Josephine (Bishop) Nixon. She married Frank Lonergan 1865-1941.

FROMER OSAGER
DIES AT KASSON

Mrs. Frank Lonergan, 72, died at herhome at Kasson, Minnesota, last Wednesday. She suffered a stroke of paralysis at 9 a.m. and passed away at 1:00 p.m.

The deceased is well remembered in this community as Mayme Nixon, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nixon. She was born at Osage, Iowa, July 31, 1871. The family occupied the farm east of Osage that was bought recently by John Kloberdanz. She was married to Frank Lonergan, November 12, 1890.

Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Lonergan moved to Kasson, Minnesota, where they farmed until retiring and moving into Kasson.

Surviving are her children: Jessie Lonergan, who had spent some time here at the home of the late Mrs. Grace Page, and Elizabeth Foreman, but returned home when her father died; Mrs. Elsie Hugstad of Hutchinson, Minnesota; Mrs. Grace Chase of St. Paul, Minnesota, and a son, Marion, who has a position in a defense plant in California. Edna died in infancy.

Sheis survived also by her sisters: Mrs. Winn Darr and Mrs. Sadie Penn, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Ray Sherwin, state of Washington; Mrs. Alice Hubertly of Waterloo; and brothers, Walter Nixon, San Bernido, Calif.; Edward of Spokane, Wash., and Arthur of Osage.

Arthur started immediately for Kasson when news came of his sister's illness, but she had passed away before he arrived.

Funeral service was held at Kasson Sunday; then the body was brought to Osage for burial. A grave service was conducted at 4:30 o'clock in the afternoon and was attended by a number of the former neighbors and friends of the family in the county.
