Jewell R. Losee, Jr. 1950-2007

RICEVILLE, IOWA - Funeral services for Jewell R. Losee, Jr. of Riceville, Iowa were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 12, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Riceville with Rev. Thelma Colorado Subramanian officiating. Pallbearers were: Kenny Portis, Chris Adams, Russ Gronwoldt, Larry Sweeney, Mark Huemann, and Albert Winkels. Interment was in Wayne Cemetery at McIntire, Iowa.

Conway Funeral Home in Riceville, Iowa handled the arrangements.

Jewell, 56, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Jewell Robert Losee, Jr., was born April 27, 1950 in Riceville, the son of Jewell Robert and Violet (Huntley) Losee. He attended school in Riceville and graduated in 1969.

On March 29, 1969 he married Ruby Keeton at the United Methodist Church in McIntire. They were the parents of three children. He started driving semi tractor over the road and desired to spend more time with his family, so he started working as a welder for McNeilus at Dodge Center, Minnesota. He gradually worked his way up the ladder and became a supervisor. The last couple of years, he has been working for R & S Grain Systems in Dexter, Minnesota.

His hobby was racing cars. He enjoyed tinkering with motors. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Jewell is survived by his wife Ruby; his children: Shawn Allen and friend Lacy Shea of Riceville, Iowa, Shannon Sue Losee of Riceville, Iowa, and Joel Losee of Northwood, Iowa; three grandchildren: Justice, Jodi, and Fredrick; his father, Jewell, Sr.; seven brothers: Ken (Virginia) Huntley of Norwalk, Iowa, Tom (Deloris) Losee of Winterset, Iowa, Larry (Jane) Losee of Stewartville, Minnesota, Garry (Cindy) Losee of LeRoy, Minnesota, Darrell (friend, Lisa) of Lime Springs, Iowa, Scott Losee of Riceville, Iowa, and Richard (Ann) Losee of Riceville, Iowa; two sisters: Deanna (Mark) Huemann of Stacyville, Iowa and Darla Roher of Riceville, Iowa.

Jewell was preceded in death by his mother: Violet; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandparents.
