Bertha Wilhelmina Louise (nee Zarling) Koschmeder

Hold Rites Thursday for Osage Woman, 74

OSAGE, IOWA – Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Koschmeder, 74, will be held Thursday at 1:30 at home, and at 2:00 at the Trinity Lutheran church with burial in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery west of Grafton. She died Monday morning while enroute to the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital at Osage.

Mrs. Koschmeder was born in Worth County and was married to the late Herman Koschmeder Sept. 27, 1895. They farmed most of their lives until they retired to Osage.

Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. Otto Trachte of Arpin, Wis.; Mrs. May McLaughlin of St. Paul, Minn; Mrs. Lawrence Pint of Osage; Mrs. Arnold Loftus, Waseca, Minn.; Miss Alma Koschmeder, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Frances Trout, Osage; Mrs. Alvin Petznick, St. Ansgar; and Mrs. Elmer Muller, Osage; three sons, Alfred, Edward and Roy, all of Osage, 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. There are also three half-brothers and four half-sisters.
