William Joseph Hoffman March 31, 1896 to February 12, 1961

W. J. Hoffman Succumbs to Long Illness

Toeterville---William J Hoffman, 64, died Sunday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church here. The Rev. William Kamke will Officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Schroeder & Houg Funeral Home is in charge.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Hoffman, he was born March 31, 1896, in Stacyville Township. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in France and Germany. He was married to Ida Baldner in 1920 and they farmed in St. Ansgar and Union townships until 1943. He was a member of the board of education and church secretary for nine years.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Merle and Dean, Toeterville; seven grandchildren, and six brothers, Anthony, Chicago; Alfred, Milwaukee; Claude, Minneapolis; Delbert and Arnold, Austin, Minn.; and Joe, Stacyville. He was preceded in death by a son, Harold, three sisters and two brothers.
