Gabriel Odden, who was born in the Rock Creek settlement, Cedar Township, Mitchell county, Iowa, on March 16, 1860, died in this city on July 9, 1919. He lived in Rock Creek most of his life.

Mr. Odden was taken ill suddenly at the H. L. Johnson home in the settlement and was brought to Osage by a brother. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and was buried in the family lot at Rock Creek Cemetery July 11.

He was the Son of Lars Nilsen Odden 1820-1893 and Olia (nee Teigen) Odden 1824-1896
