Dave Palmer Died
Friday Morning
After Long Illness

Dave Palmer, a widely-known Osage resident, passed away last Friday morning, after a lingering illness of heart trouble with complications.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home on west Ash Street at 1 o'clock, and at the Union Township Presbyterian Church later, conducted by the Reverend Hayenga. The Masons conducted a service at the grave.

David Ashley Palmer, son of James and Jane Palmer, was born Sunday, February 7, 1886, in Union Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. He was educated in his home rural school, and also studied at the Stacyville High School. He was baptized and joined the Union Presbyterian Church April 22, 1906.

On June 25, 1905, he was married to Miss Anna Naversath, and to this union three children were born: Jeanette, who died in infancy; Vivian Jane and Wayne Vernon, who, with their mother, mourn the loss of a faithful and loving father and husband.

He is also survived by three sisters and one brother; Mrs. Adam Decker, Mrs. Curtis Bisbee, Mrs. Carl Johnson, and Link Palmer, all of Mitchell County, and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him in the home, the church, and in daily life.

For years he has been a trustee in the Union Church, always willing to work and do all in his power for the good of his church.

On account of failing health, the family moved to Osage in the fall of 1925, and Dave engaged in the automobile business as a salesman. The past year his health failed to the extent where he was unable to work, and finally confined him to his bed for many weeks.
