Lora W. Van DeWalker

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 12, 1988 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in McIntire, Iowa for Lora W. Van De Walker with the Reverend William McAlpine officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Riceville.

She was born in Oakdale Township, Howard County, Iowa on June 3, 1902, the daughter of George and Amelia Wilcox. She was married to Arthur P. Baasch in Oakdale Township. They were the parents of two children.

Mr. Baasch died in 1949 and Lora later married Harry Van De Walker in Austin, Minnesota, on May 17, 1953. Mr. Van De Walker died in 1964.

Besides being a homemaker, Mrs. Van De Walker was a postal worker at the McIntire Post Office.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one brother, Robert; and her twin sister, Nora.

Survivors include her daughters, Betty (Mrs. Fred) Follett of Walden, Colorado, and Dorothy (Mrs. Donald) Krebsbach of Austin, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; three step-daughters, Arla (Mrs. Roy Richardson) of McIntire, Iowa, Helen (Mrs. Robert Timmerman) of LeRoy, Minnesota, and Shirley (Mrs. Glen Grimley) of Oelwein, Iowa; and one step-son, Keith Van DeWalker of Oelwein, Iowa.
