Obituary
Koch
Christian Koch was born in Milhausen, Germany, December 26, 1854.
He was reared in the Lutheran Church of Germany. In 1881 he emmigrated to America and came directly to Mitchell County, Iowa. He soon returned to Germany, however, where March 10, 1883, he was united in marriage with Fredericka Demner. In 1886 he came back to Mitchell County to stay, bringing with his wife and their first born son, Carl.
The Kochs remained in the Mitchell County, and in the vicinity of Osage, with the exception of two years spent in Todd County, Minnesota. The past fifteen years Mr. and Mrs. Koch have spent on their farm south of town, near the Golf Course.
Mr. Koch had enjoyed the blessings of a rugged constitution throught life. Last August he first noticed the symptoms of his final illness. From that time he declined steadily until his death, January 13, 1931, just shortly past his 76th birthday. Death was to to cancer.
The deceased is survived by his wife and the following children; Carl, of Osage; Fred, of Lake Crystal, Minnesota; Mrs. J. E. Peterson of St. Ansgar; Ed, of Waterloo; Mrs. Ralph Isaacs, of Osage; Alvin, of Osage; Mrs. Cora Tucker, of Waterloo.
A son Ernest, died in infancy. There are twelve grandchildren; also a sister, in Germany.
Funeral services were held at the Champion Funeral Home Saturday at 2 p.m., in charge of the Reverend T. P. Solem, with interment in the Osage Cemetery.
