A Sudden Death.
The friends of Mrs. August Benson, of Orchard, were very much surprised and shocked to hear last Friday morning that she had so suddenly passed from time into eternity. She had come to that community as a bride less than two years ago, their marriage having taken place September 20, 1893. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bartsch of Bassett, who had moved there from Green Lake, Wisconsin, where she was born June 13, 1868.
She was of a quiet, retiring disposition preferring her own home rather than society. For several months past she and her husband had been looking forward to a new life and a new joy that would come to their home and their affection. But what had been anticipated as a day of happiness became one of mourning, and instead of rejoicing together as they had hoped, Mr. Benson stands alone to bear his burden of grief.
The funeral services were held Sunday. After a short service at the house by Elder Ltts, the body was taken to Bassett where the funeral was held in the church, Rev. Hanscome, of New Hamtpon officiating. Much sympathy goes out to Mr. Benson in this severe and sudden bereavement.
Card of Thanks.
We hereby extend our heartfelt thanks to all the friends and neighbors who treated us so kindly and did so much for us in the time of our great affliction and sad loss in the death of our beloved Mrs. Lissa Benson.
