JENE C. SCOTT

OSAGE, IOWA - Jene C. Scott, 79, of Osage, died Tuesday (April 11, 2000) at Faith Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 833 Ash St., with the Rev. Roy Ott and the Rev. Bruce Collins officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., and will continue one hour before service time on Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Scott was born July 25, 1920, in Mitchell County as the first of nine children born to Theodore and Grace (Naber) Epple. She lived in Mitchell County during most of her childhood.

She was married to Eldo Scott on July 13, 1942, in Austin, Minn. They moved to the Clear Lake area where they farmed. During 1957, they moved to a farm in Floyd County, just across the Mitchell County line. Mr. Scott died during 1988. In the fall of 1989, Mrs. Scott moved into the Hamlin Garland Apartments, where she lived until the time of her death.

She is survived by three daughters, Elaine Caughron and her husband, Jon, of Waterloo, Betty Anderson and her husband, Lyle, of Emmons, Minn., and Patricia Evans and her husband, Mark, of Osage; three sons, Phillip Scott and his wife, Elaine, of Boscobel, Wis., Eldon Scott and his wife, Janice, of Forest City, and Kevin Scott and his wife, Colleen, of Osage; 17 grandchilden and eight great-grandchldren; two brothers, Wayne Epple of Grants Pass, Ore., and Orrie Epple of Aredale; four sisters, Arlene Axiotis and Barbara Swieter of Hampton, Kathleen Harms of Muscoda, Wis., and Lois Novak of Highland, Wis.; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldo, who died during 1988; a granddaughter, Jackie, who died during 1994; a brother, Ross Epple; and a sister, Yvonne Scott.
