McIntire: "McIntire people were saddened last week to learn of the death of Mrs. A.D. Granger, a former resident of this town, where she conducted a newspaper here for several years.
She died at Independence, Iowa, and was brought to her old home at Riceville, Iowa, for burial.
The following account of her life is taken from the Riceville Recorder:
'Margaret E. Moss was born at Mossville, Iowa, July 5, 1870, and died February 22, 1923, at the age of 52 years, 7 months, and 17 days. She was united in marriage to A.D. Granger, October 5, 1893. To this union were born two children, Alice Loveless of Noel, Missouri, and Charles Granger of Churdan, Iowa, both of whom survive her. She also leaves to mourn her passing, four brothers: Edward S. of Caldwell, Idaho, Charles R. of Los Angeles, California, Francis J. and Harry of Riceville. With the exception of a few years spent at Sulphur Springs, Arkansas, she lived all her life at Riceville and vicinity.
Having taken up newspaper work at an early age, she followed it almost continuously to within a short time of her death. She was a devoted church worker, a prominent member of the Eastern Star order and a devoted and loyal member of the W.C.T.U. The day before she was taken sick last summer she helped pick and tie one hundred and twenty seven bouquets from her own flower garden, part of them being sent away and part given to the sick and shut-ins of Riceville.'
Mrs. Granger and her husband published the McIntire Gazette for several years, discontinuing its publication about 1906. In 1907 she went to Sulphur Springs, Missouri (sic), and founded the Sulphur Springs Star, a publication which she continued until 1911."Iowa Cemetery Record:
