OSAGE, IOWA - Thomas Blake, 49, of St. Ansgar, and formerly of Osage, died on Wednesday, November 10, 1999, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, after a sudden heart attack.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, with inurnment at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church hall, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service.

Champion Funeral Home, Osage, (515) 732-3706, is in charge of arrangements.

ST. ANSGAR - Thomas Blake, 49, of St. Ansgar, died Wednesday (Nov. 10, 1999) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, following a sudden heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Visitation Catholic Church hall with a scripture service at 7 p.m.

Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements.

Tom was born on Oct. 27, 1950, in Osage in Mitchell County, the son of Othmar and Gladys (Smith) Blake. He grew up in the Meyer area and graduated from Marion High School in Stacyville in 1968. He was a member of the Iowa National Guard.

On Sept. 6, 1985, Thomas was united in marriage to Joan Markham Muller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He farmed for several years and worked at Tops Business Forms as a night supervisor.

Tom played softball for more than 20 years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, Gladys Blake, of Stacyville; his wife, Joan, of St. Ansgar; stepsons, Mike Muller and his wife, Denee, of Waverly and Larry Muller and his fiancee, Rhonda, of Osage; stepdaughter, Lynn Scott and her husband, Mark, of Lawler; six grandchildren, Stephen, Shanda, Stacia, Kali, Melanie and Sophia; five brothers, Dean Blake, of Mason City, John Blake and his wife, Mary, of Cottonwood, Minn., Dan Blake and his wife, Sue, of Stacyville, David Blake and his wife, Kathy, of Osage, and Tim Blake and his wife, Kathie, of Osage; two sisters, Jean Hemann and her husband, Denny, of Osage, and Janet Chapman and her husband, Jeff, of Marshall, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Othmar; a sister, Ruth Ann; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Margaret Smith and his paternal grandparents, Carl and Mary Blake.
