Borger L. Saug, 1835-1911

Born April 5, 1835- Died June 7, 1911

Borger L. Saug was born April 5th, 1835 in the parish of Gran Hadeland Norway, where he was baptized and confirmed. Here he also was married to Anna Peterson the 28th of April, 1859. This union was blessed with two children. One is gone before.

The only surviving child is Lars B. Saug of Rock Creek. Mr. Saug is also survived by his aged wife and six grand children. He came to this county in 1870 and since that time has lived in Mitchell county. He has lived on the farm where he died for 32 years. This farm is now owned by his son Lars B. He died June 7, 1911 at the age of 76 years, 2 months, 2 days, and was burried June 9th.

A short devotion was held at the home, and funeral services at the Rock Creek Lutheran church, of which he was a good and faithful member and blessed be his memory. He was laid to rest in the Rock Creek cemetery.
