REV. ROHR DIES AT GRADUATION

OSAGE, IOWA - The Rev. Carlton F. Rohr, 47, died suddenly Sunday while attending commencement activities for his son, Richard, at Waldorf College in Forest City. He was pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton.

Mr. Rohr was born April 15, 1919, at Elma, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rohr. He began school at Elma and later transferred to Garfield School at Mason City in 1927. He was graduated from Mason City High School in 1937 and Mason City Junior College in 1939.

After receiving his bachelor's degree from Wartburg College, he attended Wartburg Seminary at Dubuque and was graduated with doctor of divinity degree in 1944.

He was ordained into the ministry in his home church, St. James Lutheran Church, Mason City, in May 1944 and took his first parish of Dundee-Lamont. He was called to Kellogg in 1947, where he served until 1957. He has been pastor of the Grafton church since then.

He was married to Lois Schmalz on Sept. 10, 1944, in Dubuque.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Daniel of Chicago and Richard; a daughter Mary Rohr, Grafton, and three sisters, Bertha, Florence and Pearl Rohr all of Seattle. His sisters were all attending the commencement exercises Sunday.

The body is at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage and will lie in state until Wednesday. A prayer service will be held at 1 p.m. in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City. Dr. Herman Siefkes, district president of the American Lutheran Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Memorial Park, Mason City.
