YOUTH FATALLY SHOT IN MISHAP

Bjork, Lyle, Is Killed Gun Discharges While Being Cleaned.

LYLE, Minn., July 2. — Richard Bjork, 29, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bjork of Lyle, was fatally shot Saturday afternoon by him self while cleaning a gun at the home of his cousin, Mrs. Carta Christiansen, at Austin, where he was boarding. Richard was employed at the Hormel plant at Austin.

The youth was cleaning his 22 target gun preparatory to going up the river with some friends for target practice when the accident occurred. His brother, Herbert, employed in the Hormel office, called the house about 2 o'clock to speak to his brother and Mrs. Christian son went to his room to call Richard and found him lying on the bed, unconscious. Mrs. Christiansen heard a shot, but thinking it might be a firecracker, made no investigation.

Richard is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bjork three brothers, Edward and Herbert of Austin, and Allen at home one sister, Lucille, who is now traveling somewhere in the eastern states, besides aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral is planned for Tuesday at 2 o'clock.
