WHITNEY

Clark Marshall Whitney was born in Jefferson county, New York, December 22, 1820, and died in Osage, Iowa, April 20, 1901. He was 80 years, 3 months and 29 days old. He came west to Jefferson county, Wisconsin, when 25 years old, where he was married to Miss Harriet Bennett. Three children were born to them, one son and two daughters. His wife died in 1859. He was married to his present wife, Mrs. Nancy Helmer, 41 years ago last July. In 1874 he came to Iowa and settled in Burr Oak township. In 1894 he moved to Osage, where he has since resided.

He leaves his aged wife and three children, Oliver D. Whitney of Mitchell, Mrs. Ida M. Perry of Burr Oak; Mrs. Irene A. Miller of St. Ansgar, and five sisters who reside in New York to mourn his loss.
