Susanna Coup Gable [1813-1900]

Sunday, April 14, Mrs. Susanna Gable died at the home of her son in this city, at the ripe old age of 87 years, 7 months and 7 days.

Susanna Coup was born November 21, 1813, in Schuykill, Pennsylvania. In 1835 she was married to John Gable, and resided in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, until the death of Mr. Gable, which occured in 1873. To the above union were born 10 children, eight of them growing to maturity and two passing away in infancy. A daughter preceded the mother to the better world after reaching maturity. Of those living, there were present at the funeral: Dr. W.H.H. Gable, Osage; L.L. Gable, Osage; E. E. Gable, Osage; Sarah Gable, Osage; Mrs. Catherman of Burr Oak, and Christian Gable of Mankato, Minn.

During her last sickness Mrs. Gable was a great sufferer, but she was sustained by the Christian's faith and fortitude. She has only gone on before and will wait on the other shore for the loved ones to follow her home.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Woolverton, assisted by Rev. Coon.
