Miss Sarah Gable Dead
Passed Away at Home in Osage Last Thursday
After Lingering and Suffering IllnessSarah Gable was born in Mifflinberg, Pennsylvania, Sept. 15, 1852, and died at her home in this city on June 27, 1918. She was the daughter of John and Susannah Gable and was the youngest of ten children. She grew to womanhood in her native state and at the age of 21, she came to Iowa. With the exception of a few months spent in travel, Miss Gable has been a resident of Osage.
In early life she united with the Lutheran church and after coming to Iowa transferred her church membership to the Methodist Episcopal church in Osage. She has always taken a deep interest in the work of the church. Her noble Christian character has proved the reality of her faith. She lived and died in the assurance of God's favor.
One sister, Mrs. Kate Catherman and two brothers, Chris Gable of Mankato, Minn., and Levi Gable, of Boise, Idaho, survive the death of this devoted sister.
A host of friends will miss her genial company and will cherish her memory as a sacred treasure.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.C. Cleworth at the Methodist church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and interment was in the Osage cemetery.
