OSAGE, IOWA -- Dorothy Torgerson, age 85, of Osage, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Inurnment will be at the Osage Cemetery. There will be a time for lunch and fellowship following services at the church.

OSAGE - Dorothy Torgerson, 85, of Osage died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa.

Dorothy was born May 16, 1924, in Morse, Iowa, the daughter of John and Bernice (Fisher) Demory. She graduated from Bode High School in Bode, Iowa. On January 3, 1948, she married Donald Torgerson in Fairmont, Minnesota. They farmed near Osage until moving to New Haven in 1969.

Dorothy was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, Cubs baseball and Iowa basketball.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Susan (Patrick) Dolan, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa; three grandchildren: Emily Dolan of Van Horne, Iowa, Carrie Dolan (Tom Jones) of Giard, Iowa, and Bobbi Lydon (Ethan) with the U.S.A.F. in Medford, New Jersey; four great-grandchildren: Tyson, Izaac, Riley and Cloey; and two brothers: Carl Demory of Iowa City, Iowa, and Harold Demory of Arnolds Park, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Torgerson in 1987; a brother, Art; and a sister, Clara.
