Ina Almira (Shipman) Munson, 1866-1935
Ina Almira Shipman was born at Stockton, Illinois, September 26, 1866. Her parents were Jane and William Shipman.
When she was a mere child, her parents moved to Howard County, Iowa. There she grew to womanhood. At the age of 17, May 29, 1884, she was united in marriage, at Stacyville, Iowa, to George A. Munson, of Wayne Township.
To this union were born four children: Lura Grace, who departed this life January 29, 1920, at the age of 32 years; Earl Lawrence, who died when 3 1/2 years old; Amy B. Frank and Harold B. Munson, of Plentywood, Montana.
March 15, 1913, she moved with the family from McIntire, Iowa, the home where she had spent the greater share of her life, to Plentywood, Montana. She soon became a member of the Congregational church and Order of the Eastern Star, and was true to God, her home and friends, until God suddenly called her to rest Friday, September 20, 1935.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, G.A. Munson, of Plentywood, Montana; her son and daughter mentioned above, also of Plentywood; a sister, Mrs. Henry Kinter, McIntire; a brother, Milo Shipman, Crosby, North Dakota; a brother, Elmer Shipman, St. Ignatius, Montana; a brother, George Shipman, McIntire, besides numerous friends and relatives.
Mrs. Munson departed this life at her home in Montana. The body was brought to McIntire on Monday evening, and funeral services were held in the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Garrett, and interment was made in the family lot beside her daughter and son.
