STACYVILLE, IOWA - Mrs. Anton Frien, 82 died at her home in Stacyville after a few hours illness due to a stroke.

Nee Mary Heimer, daughter of Mr. Stephen and Gertrude Heimer, at Stacyville September 30, 1864. She married Anton Frien August 25, 1883; they lived on a farm east of Stacyville, where 13 children were born to them, six of whom preceded her in death.

Surviving are Joe, Osage; Mrs. Jess Wilson, Garner; Ed, of Eldora; Henry, Waterloo; Mrs. Art Wolf, Stacyville; Mrs. Rudy Kasel, Marchalltown; Mrs. William D. Jordan, Waukon; also leaves 35 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Joe H. Heimer, Stacyville, and John Heimer, Austin, Minnesota.

Mr. and Mrs. Frien celebrated their golden wedding anniversary August 25, 1933. Mr. Frien died August 21, 1940. Mrs. Frien was a lifelong member of the Catholic church.
