Aged Farmer Near Forest City Dies

FOREST CITY, IOWA -- Funeral services for August Milbrant, 70, who died Wednesday morning of a heart attack shortly after he had returned to the house from the barnyard on his sons farm, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Raymond Milbrandt farm home and at 1:30 at the Methodist Church in Woden. the Rev. E Peterson will officiate. Interment will be in the Woden Cemetery.

Milbrandt had farmed in the Grant Township area for many years before retiring and had made his home with a son, Raymond, since his wifes death two years ago.

Surviving are a daughter, Edith who teaches at Algona, and two sons, Raymond and Clarence, who farm in the Woden area.

Note* August was the son of Herman Milbrandt and Bertha Mielitz Milbrandt. He was born in Riceville, Mitchell, Iowa, October 11, 1882. He was married to Marie Reitter.
