Funeral services for Mildred Christine Feldt, 89, of Mason City and formerly of St. Ansgar, who died Saturday, May 8, 2004 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, were held at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.
Mildred married Edward A. Feldt in 1934 and to this union one son and three daughters were born. They owned and operated elevators in Carpenter, Meltonville and St. Ansgar for many years until they sold out and purchased the Benson farm south of St. Ansgar where they farmed for many years before retiring and moving into St. Ansgar. After she lost Edward in 1980, she and Suzie stayed in St. Ansgar until 1990 when they moved to Mason City to be closer to her other daughter.
Mildred was a loving and devoted mother and spent 64 years caring for her disabled daughter, Suzie, until she lost her in June of 2001. She loved watching sports, especially her Iowa Hawkeyes, and she liked bingo and puzzles.
Mildred is survived by her son William Feldt of Albany, Missouri; daughters, Sherlyn Phares of Escondido, California; Donna Jamison of Mason City; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Marion Feldt, Helen Feldt and Maxine Thompson; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Suzie, brother Maurice Thompson, several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Church cemetery, St. Ansgar.
