Miss Emma Bartz Funeral
Held At Immanuel LutheranFuneral services for Emma Bartz, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center Saturday, January 15, 1966, were held on Tuesday, January 18 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Reverend Norman E. Betke officiating.
Interment was in the City Cemetery with Reverend Betke in charge of the committal service.
Emma Williamina Friedrika Bartz, daughter of the late Albertina and August Bartz, was born March 27, 1870 in Newburg Township. She was baptized in early infancy and confirmed by the Reverend Zalinger at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rock Township. She remained a steadfast member of the Lutheran Church, joining with Immanuel Lutheran after moving to St. Ansgar with her father and sister in 1907.
For many years Emma worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed working out of doors, keeping up with a large garden in the summer and the yard.
She had the privilege of observing her 95th birthday March 27, 1965 at an open house with many relatives and friends.
She attained the age of 95 years, 9 months and 18 days.
She enjoyed good health until October 1 when she fell, sustaining a broken hip, then was confined to Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, until transferred to the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her youngest sister, Alreka.
Pall bearers were Rudolph Schroeder, Forrest Borchardt, Harold Feldt, Russell Borchardt, Rufus Glassel, William Julson.
