Funeral services for Mrs. Helene H. Ellingson, 89, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center November 27, 1972, were held November 30 at Schroeder and Dunn Funeral Home here with the Rev. David Ide officiating.

Helene Hylden Ellingson, daughter of David O. and Martha (Larson) Hylden, was born February 21, 1883 on the old Hylden homestead south of St. Ansgar. She was married in 1907 to D.N. Riggins of Birmingham, Ala. Two children were born to them, Thelma Jean and D.N. Riggins Jr. Following the death of her husband, Helene returned to St. Ansgar and in February 1917 she was united in marriage to Andrew Ellingson.

The Ellingson operated stores in Osage, Carpenter and St. Ansgar before moving to Sarasota, Fla. After several years they returned to Mitchell county and made their home in St. Ansgar.

Mrs. Ellingson enjoyed good health until December 1971. July 7, 1971 she entered the Good Samaritan Center and made her home there until her death.

She is survived by two grandsons, John and Bradley Gilbertson of Westminister, Calif, and several nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, D.N. Riggins, her second husband, Andrew Ellingson and her two children.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with Rev. Ide in charge of the committal services.
