Jean B. Carden dies at Osage; Rites Thursday

OSAGE, IOWA - Jean B. Carden, 75, a former Osage businessman died Tuesday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Born in 1886 at Winfield, Iowa, he was the son of James and Mary Carden. He attended Iowa Wesleyan University and in 1907 he was married to Nelle Clegg. The same year he established the Jean B. Carden Clothing Store here. He sold the store in 1932 and was a clothing salesman until retiring five years ago.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Hubert, Omaha; Jean Jr., Chicago; two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and his monther, Mrs. Mary Carden, Santa Ana, California.

Funral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at eh Champion Funeral Home with burial in Osage Cemetery. The Reverend Everett Pencock will officiate.
