The Rev. Otis Moore Dies in New York City

Word of the death of the Rev. Otis Moore, former St. Ansgar Methodist pastor, reached friends in Mason City Saturday. It occurred at the Moore home in New York City Wednesday, according to the message received by Mrs. Howard Miller, 2102 Massachusetts S. E.

Mr. Moore, a graduate of Cornell College, had his first pastorate at Bennett. From there he came to St. Ansgar. His last Iowa charge returned him to the Tipton area where be served churches at Bennett, South Bethel and Rochester. For a number of years he has been in semi-retirement in the east. Mrs. Moore, whose grandfather was the first president of Cornell, has been assisting in the preparation of a history of missions being issued by the Methodist Publishing House of New York.

Surviving Mr. Moore, in addition to the widow, are a son, two daughters and a number of grandchildren. One daughter, Allison Swords, wife of a minister, and Richard Moore, a pastor himself, live with their families near the Moore home, 523 E. 14th St., New York City.

Mary Ellen Heineman, the other daughter, is the wife of a missionary in the India field. She too has been engaged in mission work.
