Adrian E. Kleckner Funeral
Held Monday, November 2Funeral services for Adrian E. Kleckner, Sr., 67, formerly of the Osage area, who died October 30 at the Floyd County Memorial hospital, were held November 2 at St. Peter's Catholic church in New Haven with the Rev. John Gregory officiating.
Adrian E. Kleckner, Sr. was born July 25, 1914, in New Haven, the son of Ernest and Florence (Fox) Kleckner. He attended St. Mary's Catholic school in New Haven and grew to manhood in Mitchell county.
He married Agnes C. Dargan June 25, 1937, in Riceville. During the years he resided in Osage he served as Superintendent of Public Works for the City of Osage and was co-owner of the Kleckner-Hartwig Excavation Co. He was a lifelong member of the Catholic church and was affiliated with Union Local 55 of Des Moines. The Kleckners resided in Osage and Des Moines before retiring to Charles City a number of years ago.
Mr. Kleckner is survived by his wife, Agnes; nine children: Mary A. Thomas of Sheffield; Patricia A. Humphrey of Osage; Adrian E. Kleckner, Jr. of Urbandale; Jane E. Dahley of Thornton; Timothy J. Kleckner of Algona; Thomas M. Kleckner of Hampton; Jody K. Leonard of Sheffield; Brian A. Kleckner of Newton; and Tracy S. Kleckner of Osage; 24 grandchildren; five brothers, Robert, Maurice, and Raymond of St. Ansgar; James of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and William of Stevens Point, Wis.; two sisters, Maey[cq] Schwalbe of Oakland, Calif. and Bernice Paulson of Osage; nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother Arnold of Hampton, and two sisters, Helen and Patricia.
Burial was in St. Peters Catholic cemetery in New Haven with Rev. Gregory in charge of the committal services.
