Martha May, 97, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at the Opportunity Adult Family Home, Spokane, Washington.
She was born May 19, 1904, to Frank Blake and Katherine (Pitzen) Blake in Meyer, Iowa. She attended school in Meyer through eighth grade.
On September 22, 1926, she married Leo May in Meyer, Iowa. He died in 1963 and Martha moved to Spokane, Washington in 1965.
Survivors include daughters, Ruth (James) Lucas, Cheney, Wash.; Valeria (Herman) Miller, Austin; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Rose Lutgen, Sister Bay, Wis.; Anne Har, Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2002, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home and Saturday at the church for one hour before the service.
Service: Noon, Saturday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, Iowa with the Rev. Joe Schneider officiating.
Interment: The church cemetery.

MARTHA MAYMEYER, IOWA - A funeral Mass for Martha May will be held at noon Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer, with the Rev. Joe Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Martha May, 97, died Saturday (April 27, 2002) at the Opportunity Adult Family Home in Spokane, Wash.
She was born May 19, 1904, to Frank and Katherine (Pitzen) Blake in Meyer, Iowa. Martha attended school in Meyer through the eighth grade.
On Sept. 22, 1926, she was united in marriage to Leo May, also in Meyer. Leo passed away in 1963 and Martha moved to Spokane in 1965.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruth (James) Lucas, of Cheney, Wash., and Valeria (Herman) Miller, of Austin, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Rose Lutgen, of Sister Bay, Wis., and Anne Har, of Rochester, Minn.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home in LeRoy, Minn. There will be a 7 p.m. prayer service.
There will be further visitation one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
