Mrs. John Casperson was born in Rolstad, Sweden, January 27, 1837. She was baptized and confirmed at the same place and also grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to John Casperson October 10, 1864, and to this union were born seven children of whom one died as an infant. She emigrated to America with her family in 1890 and settled in Worth county, Iowa, where she lived until two years ago when she and her husband went to make their home with their two daughters, Mrs. Arthur White and Mrs. Mark Robertson of St. Ansgar.
She died of pneumonia at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur White, April 16, 1916, at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 29 days. She leaves to mourn her loss her aged husband and six children, as follows; Charles of Sharpville, Pa., Swen of Inev, Minn., Mrs. John Stenstrom, of Erie, Pa., John of Bolan, Iowa, Mrs. Mark Robertson and Mrs. Arthur White of St. Ansgar, Iowa, also nine grandchildren.
The funeral was held Wednesday, April 19 at the U.N.L. church in St. Ansgar and conducted by the pastor, Rev. Waldeland. The remains were laid to rest in the St. Ansgar Norwegian Lutheran cemetery.
