Death: Jan. 16, 1997, Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa.Beverly Elaine "Bev" Calicchia, 48, of 777 S. Eisenhower Ave., died Thursday morning, January 16, 1997, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 Fourth St. S,E., with the Rev. David Anderson officiating.
The family will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. today for a time of rememberance at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Bev Calicchia Memorial Fund.
Bev was born on the family farm at Grafton on July 15, 1948 the daughter of John and Alberta (Everhart) Berding.
She attended St. Ansgar High School. During her early years, she worked various jobs and most recently she worked as a waitress, and bartender for the Stein Inn, Rosebowl, and the Other Place as a prep cook and was a custodian at the Mason City High School until ill health led her to retirement in July of 1996.
She was united in marriage to Steven Calicchia on November 19, 1970, in Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
Bev is survived by her husband, Steven, Mason City, two daughters, Teresa and her husband, Bryan Matney, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and Michelle and her husband, Mark Ridley, Mason City one son, Bradley Calicchia and Bobbie, Mason City, two grandchildren, Tyler and Taylan Ridley; five sisters, Darlene Adams, Hayward, Minn.; LaVonne and her husband, Dean Blackmer, Mason City; Bonnie Ryerson, Alden, Minn; Shirley Berding of Mason City; and LorraineSailor, Albert Lea Minn,; seven brothers, Herman "Bud" and his wife, Prudy; Larry and his wife Elaine; LeRoy and Carolyn; Benny Berding and Muriel, all of Mason City; Roger and his wife, Sharon, Plymouth; Johnny Berding and Marge, Mason City; Darrell "Butch" and his wife Carol, Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dale, Berding.
