Otto P. Hendrickson Funeral Held at First Lutheran Church
Funeral services for Otto P. Hendrickson, 88 of St. Ansgar, who died June 7, 1984 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, were held June 9, at First Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Thomas Hughes officiating.
Otto Parnell Hendrickson was born on the family farm southwest of St. Ansgar February 11, 1896, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Satre) Hendrickson. He was baptized February 28, 1896 by the Reverend Olsen, and confirmed by Reverend Waldeland in May of 1912. He attended Newburg school, and later St. Ansgar High School.
Mr. Henderson entered into partnership with his father in running the family farm, and later with his brother, Morris. In 1943 he purchased his own farm south of St. Ansgar which he still owned. He continued to run his farm until his retirement in 1948. Mr. Hendrickson was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church here.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Morris and Roy.
He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Esther Abbott of St. Ansgar, who came to make her home with him after her husband died in April, 1972; seven nieces and nephews, Mrs. Jean Edgar, Ballwin, Missouri, Mrs. Mary Cedarland of Wayland, Mass.; Mrs. Anne Kobin of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Karen Clark of Lawrence, Kansas; Don Hendrickson of St. Ansgar; David Hendrickson of Keokuk and Bartlett Hendrickson of Rockville, Maryland.
Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery with Reverend Hughes in charge of committal services.

The funeral of Otto Parnell Hendrickson was held on Saturday, June 9, 1984, at First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, Iowa. Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. T. Hughes officiated.
Mr. Hendrickson died June 7, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage, Iowa, and the age of 88.
He was born on the family farm southwest of St. Ansgar, Iowa, on February 11, 1896, the son of Henry and Elisabeth Hendrickson. He attended Newburg School and later St. Ansgar High School. He was a member of First Lutheran Church all his life.
Otto entered into partnership with his father, in running the family farm and later with his brother, Morris. In 1943 he purchased his own farm south of St. Ansgar which he owned throughout his life, although retiring in 1948.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and by two brothers, Morris and Roy.
