Funeral services for Nuel K. Culbertson, 71, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital Sunday, February 13, were held Wednesday, February 16 at Deer Creek Lutheran church near Carpenter with the Rev. Victor Baderschneider officiating.
Nuel Kindred Culbertson was born April 25, 1900 in Worth county, the eldest son of Charles and Rusina (Strand) Culbertson. He grew to manhood in the Carpenter area where he received his education.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Deer Creek Lutheran church by the late Rev. M.E. Waldeland. For 25 years he was engaged in business in Carpenter.
Mr. Culbertson and Laura Feldt were united in marriage July 15, 1950. They established their home in Chicago, Ill. where they continued to live until retiring in Osage January 15, 1972.
Sunday morning, February 13, Mr. Culbertson was stricken with a heart seizure and died at Mitchell County Memorial hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; one daughter, Mrs. Warren (Rhea Lee) Wind of Park Ridge, Ill.; by a former marriage; three grandson; one brother, Claude of Little Cedar; two sisters, Mrs. Milton (Enid) Thompson of LeRoy, Minn., and Mrs. David (Ruth) McGreevy of Mankato, Minn.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, Ida and two brothers, Russell and Oral.
Burial was in Newburg cemetery, Carpenter, with Rev. Baderschneider in charge of the committal services.
