OSAGE, IOWA - Caroline Marie Winter, 86, of Osage died Monday, January 4, 2010, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Township Cemetery at Little Cedar. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage - 641-732-3706.

OSAGE, IOWA -- Caroline Marie Winter, age 86, of Osage, died Monday, January 4, 2010, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Township Cemetery at Little Cedar, Iowa. Visitation is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. Memorials may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
She was born on February 18, 1923, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob and Botilla Winter. Caroline was baptized at Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fredsville, Iowa. She was confirmed as an adult by Pastor T.P. Solem at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Caroline was employed by the food service of the Mitchell County Hospital. She enjoyed her doll collection, some of which were her own creation, and cake decorating.
Caroline is survived by her brother, Pastor Ole (Naomi) Winter of Decorah; two nephews, Mark (Annette) Winter of Thousand Oaks, California; Larry (Jane) Winter of Thousand Oaks, California; a niece, Kathy (Jim) Thomsen of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; four great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents in 1983; and her nephew, David Michael Winter in 1999.
