Wilbert P. Klapperick, 69, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, January 26, 2002 at the Austin Medical Center.

He was born November 13, 1932, in Stacyville, Iowa to John and Mary (Theobald) Klapperick. He graduated from Pacelli High School in 1950 and served in the Military Police from 1953 to 1955 while in Korea.

On March 13, 1954 he was united in marriage to LaDonna M. Bailey at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Austin. Wilbert worked as a carpenter, city building inspector and a mechanic at Hormels. He belonged to St. Augustine Church and the American Legion. Wilbert enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, golfing, hunting and spectator sports

Survivors include his wife: LaDonna Klapperick, Austin; daughters: Debbie and Jeff Trimble, Austin; Darcy Klapperick and fiance Chris McGough, Eagan; sons: Brian and Lynn Klapperick, Austin; Todd and Rhonda Klapperick, Apple Valley; five grandchildren; brothers: Herb and Murl Loecher, Austin; Elmer and Jeanette Klapperick, Austin, Linus and Sally Klapperick, Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters: Marceline and Dean Corkill, Sacramento, Calif.; Mary and Dick Cook, Rochester; Darlene Klapperick, Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law: Mary Klapperick, Austin; brother-in-law: Merton DeBoer, Austin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-Kenneth Klapperick, sister- Vernetta DeBoer.

Visitation: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 30, 2002 with a 7 pm wake service on at the funeral home and also from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday Jan. 31, 2002

Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2002 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Austin with Father Paul Nelson officiating.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, with military rites by American Legion Post #91. The casket bearers will be Tony Klapperick, Jody Bates, Gary Loecher, Albert Cook, Bob Miller and Ron Miller.

Funeral Home: Mayer Funeral Home, Austin.
