N, IOWA WOMAN DIES SUDDENLY
Mrs. Camiel Hommez Succumbs to Gangrene
OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. for Mrs. Camiel Hommez, 56, who died Wednesday morning at a Mason City hospital. Rev. E. A. Fitzgerald will be in charge of the services at the Sacred Heart church with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Death was due to gangrene.
Elma Verbeke was born in Belgium, Feb. 12, 1888. She came to Moline, Illinois, where she was married the same year to Camiel Hommez. They lived at Moline, then moved to a farm in Minnesota, and came to Mitchell county, near St. Ansgar, in 1921. They retired in 1940 to St. Ansgar where she spent the remainder of her life.
Surviving, are her husband, Camiel Hommez, and seven children: Louis Hommez of Osage, Cpl. Joe
Hommez, with the U. S. army in France; Mary, Evanston, Illinois; Mrs. John Krebsbach, Stacyville; Julia arid Bertha of Moline, Illinois, and Francis, of St. Ansgar, Also surviving are five sisters and two brothers.The Rosary will be said Friday evening by members of the Sacred Heart Guild of Osage.
