#2:

The funeral services for Mrs. Torkel Borsheim were held at the First Lutheran Church, Wednesday, December 10, preceded by a short service at the home. The Rev. Olaf A. Langehough conducted the services. She was buried in the Riverview (Halvorson) Cemetery by the side of her husband and parents.

Brita Hylden was born in Ulvik, Hardanger, Norway, July 24, 1839, and was united in marriage with Torkel Borsheim on June 8, 1858, and they, with Mrs. Borsheim's parents immigrated to America in 1865. They soon after settled on the farm where she resided up to the time of her death, some sixty-six years. The Borsheims celebrated their golden wedding on June 8, 1908. Mr. Borsheim died sixteen years ago.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Borsheim, all of whom are living; Mrs. Mikkel Torblaa of Fosston, Minn., Nels, on the old homestead, Ole of Blair, Wis., and Hans of Joliet, Ill. and eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. There also survive, her brother, Mikkel Hylden of Park River, N.D., and sister, Julia D. Nelson, of Fargo, N.D.

Mrs. Borsheim was a life long member of the Lutheran Church, having joined in her girlhood home. She continued to aid the church up to the time of her death, and was liberal in her giving to all needy causes. Devotions were held in her home every evening. Her deep religious nature was a great help to her at all times, and especially when, at the age of 82, she fell, breaking her hip, and was confined to her bed for six months. She was completely restored to health and on the day of her death was up and about the house in the morning.

Rev. Langehough used for his text Mrs. Borsheim's favorite verse of Scripture; Philippians 4:4-"Rejoice in the Lord alway; and again, I say, Rejoice." William Groth sang her favorite hymn, "Come To The Savior."

Those from a distance to attend the funeral were; O.B. Borsheim, Blair, Wis.; Hans Borsheim, Joliet, Illinois; Mrs. L.J. Nelson, LaCrosse, Wisconsin; Mrs. Mikkel Torblaa and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Torblaa, Fosston, Minnesota; Lars Aurdal, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Preston, and Mrs. Sola, Deer Creek; Magnus Sponheim, Ole Torblaa, Osage; Mrs. Louis Larson, Mrs. Milland, Mr. and Mrs. Dahl, Lake Mills; Mr. and Mrs. W. Berg, Sumner; Mrs. Geo. DuShane, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Ellingson and Ole Severson, Osage.
