Alvin King 1900 - 1988
Funeral services were held Monday, April 4, 1988 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage, for Alvin Kling, 97, of Osage. The Reverend Roger Hoppenworth officiated and burial was in Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Kling died Thrusday, March 31, 1988 at an Osage nursing home.
Mr. Kling was born November 30, 1900 in Winona, Minnesota to Louis and Anna (Brandau) Kling. He moved to the Rudd area as a child with his family and attended rural schools in the area. He also attended Cedar Valley Seminary in Osage. Mr. Kling worked for Hart Parr Corp. in Charles City, now known as White Farm Equipment Corp., for many years.
On April 16, 1933 he married Alma Nelson at the home of her parent’s in rural Floyd County.
The couple farmed southwest of Osage until he retired in 1965. Mr. Kling then worked as the Mitchell County Assessor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother.
Survivors include his wife, Alma of Osage; two sons, Norman of Rudd, and Keigh of Monona; four grandchildren, and two sisters, Katie Apel of Nora ASprings, and Luella Burnette of Rudd.
