Al Halbach

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, April 6, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Al Halbach, 72, of Osage. The Reverend Leon Connolly will officiate and burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Hallbach died Sunday, April 3, 1988 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Mr Halbach was born October 11, 1915 in Stacyville to Nick and Rose (Brumm) Halbach. He attended school in Stacyville. On June 20, 1939, he married Louise Palmer in Stacyville. They lived there until 1947 when the couple moved to Osage. He worked for Co-op Oil for over 40 years driving a tank wagon until retiring in 1978.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Catholic Order of Foresters for more than 50 years, and the Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wilfred, and one sister, Olive.

Survivors include his wife, Louise of Osage; four daughters, Mrs. Gary (Eloise) Kuper of Osage, Mrs. Ken (Terry) Kampman of Cedar Falls, Maureen McIntire of Antioch, Illinois, and Mrs. Jim (Jody) Johnson of Osage; four sons, James and Stanley, both of Osage, Stephen of Nashua, and Tony of Charles City; three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Irene) Kinney of St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. Irvine (Bertilla) Mullenbach of Rochester, Minnesota, and Mrs. Marjorie Stolzenberg of Stacyville; two brothers, Raymond and Fred, both of Stacyville; 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
