Gurine Grove Brenna, daughter of Ingeri and Tollef Grove, was born August 12, 1866, in Mitchell county, four miles north of St. Ansgar. She was baptized by Pastor C.L. Clausen and confirmed by Pastor Johan Olsen, and was a life long member of the First Lutheran congregation here.
January 17, 1905, she was united in marriage with George O. Brenna of Great Falls, Montana. To this union was born one son, Grove Orlando. Mr. and Mrs. Brenna established their home on the farm of Mrs. Brenna's father, Tollef Grove, who came here as a member of the Clausen Colony in 1853. In 1909 they moved to St. Ansgar where they resided for 30 years, returning to the farm in 1939, where she lived the remainder of her life.
Survivors are her husband George, son, Orlando, and sister Mrs. Annie Brenna of Salem, Oregon. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Langehough in charge of the committal services.
